Dromoland Castle, one of Ireland's most prestigious 5* Hotels is currently recruiting for the position of Manager of Resort Maintenance Departments.
Overview of Role: Effective management of operations in the maintenance departments, service contracts, prioritising work tasks, responsible for the Building Energy Management System (incl.
CHP, boilers, water, oil, gas units, treatment plant, generators etc.)
Duties: To implement and monitor the Resort's maintenance system, which is a Business Focused Maintenance system, preventative maintenance & planned maintenance system designed to match the strategic service level requirements of the Resort. Responsible for managing the maintenance team, planning and scheduling works, and to prioritise, plan and co-ordinate all maintenance work tasks to be undertaken.
Effective management of your team on a daily basis and co-ordinating daily responsibilities.
Offer innovation on developments in your responsible areas.
Development and control of Capital Expenditure Programs.
Management of mechanical equipment, boiler houses & energy centre to ensure safe operation & maximisation is achieved in all these areas.
Manage maintenance contracts and relationships (and contractors) with third parties, managing annual maintenance budgets, liaising with energy suppliers annually and compliance with Health and Safety Legislation. Liaising with Department Heads on planned activities & preventative maintenance.
To liaise with Senior Management/Accommodation in relation to refurbishment work; redecorating.
Maintain a "call out" reporting/control system so that effective records are maintained.
Implement an effective maintenance service schedule to ensure that all items are serviced on an annual basis at least.
To co-ordinate purchasing of necessary items ensuring that correct procedures are adhered to (Responsible for contractors who need to order goods as well).
Management of Fire Safety Equipment & maintenance with external contractors and your team.
Where defects occur or may occur taking corrective actions where necessary.
Readiness for renewal of dance license application annually.
To create strategy for the potential improvement of the physical products, (i.e.
building, plants, machinery, water treatment) grounds and golf course.
To implement an effective and efficient maintenance regime, which will manage the Building Management Systems, and will be responsible for all maintenance aspects in the resort.
Proactively manage all areas under your control for the guest experience to ensure the highest standards are achieved at all times.
Observe all legal requirements and follow all fire, health & safety regulations and laws governing Hotel operations in Ireland.
Ensuring the maintenance team conform to safe operating procedures and to Health and Safety Legislation.
Carry out inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues.
Also checking electrical & hydraulic systems of the building to ensure functionality.
The Ideal Candidate: Relevant 3rd Level Degree Qualified Level 8 (Mechanical Engineering).
Min 3 years industry experience in an Engineering/Maintenance environment.
Experience in a Maintenance function incorporating Building Energy Management Systems.
Have key competencies in Leadership, strong communication skills.
A flexible approach to work and highly motivated.
Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of Building Energy Management Systems, including data monitoring and review, control of system parameters, implementation of system changes etc.
