Overview Work with the area supervisor to co-ordinate the daily work flow within the team and work to ensure the Operations targets for Cook Medical are met.
Reporting to: Supervisor, Production Responsibilities Monitor level of work in the area ensuring that there is sufficient work available at all times, that set targets are achieved and where necessary redeploy manufacturing operators to maximise output.
Carry out day to day duties as required.
Act as first point of contact for team members on Quality and Manufacturing issues which have been escalated by the team members.
Monitor individual staff performance in achieving individual targets and liaise with Supervisor on issues arising.
Work with Supervisor, Quality and manufacturing operators to ensure that the quality standards are met.
Work within non conformance system to train, disposition and communicate as appropriate & necessary.
Provide input into performance reviews of manufacturing operators including absenteeism and timekeeping.
Organise overtime when requested by Supervisor.
Ensure that all training checklists, training records are completed as per procedure.
Monitor training of manufacturing operators, particularly in first six weeks, to ensure the required training is received.
Highlight any concerns to Supervisor.
Work with manufacturing operators to identify areas in which they may require training or retraining or cross training on additional products.
Highlight areas for improvement and work constructively to implement these in conjunction with Supervisor.
Ensure adherence to COOK Quality system procedures and promote high quality awareness amongst team members.
Ensure all team members are adhering to procedures, SOP's QSI's etc.
Ensure adherence to all environmental, health & safety requirements in accordance with company policy.
Ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the manufacturing areas.
Act as delegate for supervisor as appropriate.
Ensure that Cook's Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook's behalf.
Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the medical device industry.
Experience of working in a Team Lead/Supervisory capacity would be advantageous.
Computer skills would be an advantage.
Demonstrable leadership and problem solving capabilities.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively on an individual and group basis.
High self motivation.
Some flexibility as regards working hours/days.
Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
