We are looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Technical Engineer to join our Development & ESG team based in Dublin.
The Technical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the Mechanical & Electrical installations meet the ambitious Technical and Environmental Standards established by Staycity across our business, properties and portfolio across the continent in regions including London, Dublin, Berlin, Edinburgh, Paris, Venice and many more cities.
The Technical Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation of mechanical, electrical, lift and sprinkler system design and installation into new projects, and retrofitting existing buildings to Net Zero standards, following a rolling programme throughout the decade.
Responsible for continuously striving for improved levels of sustainability in design and delivery, along with developing metrics to track progress.
Responsible for the management of external resources, coordinating with the internal technical, development and project managers.

This is required to meet our strong ESG principles.
Assessing the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of the proposed and existing properties Assess Drawings and Specifications generated by our MEP Consultants to determine that they align with our Technical Requirement Document (TRD) and our ESG targets.
Assess estimated building loads generated by our MEP Consultants and liaise with local utility providers to ensure the availability of capacity for our future requirements Existing Properties : Support our Energy Manager and the ESG Team in identifying potential energy upgrade projects within our existing Aparthotels - Where required, design, tendering and monitoring on site of energy retrofit projects, including grant applications and cost control.
Assessing the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of the existing properties before and after the retrofit project Where required, assess Drawings and Specifications generated by our MEP Consultants for energy upgrade projects to determine that they align with our Technical Requirement Document (TRD) and our ESG targets.
Required Skills and Experience Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Eligible for and working towards Chartered Engineer and/or Professional Engineer Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience within an Engineering Consultancy or equivalent environment.
Familiarity with the design and performance specification of Mechanical, Electrical, Lift and Sprinkler systems is a prerequisite.
Familiarity with Building Regulations, Building Control and Sustainability Certification Schemes is desired.
With the ability to research these in other countries, Staycity Group currently operates in 7 countries in Europe, with additional countries expected in the next few years.
Be passionate about sustainable building design with some knowledge of embodied and operational carbon, 'Well' design, low energy/passive design, heat pumps, AHU, VRF, FCU, low GWP refrigerants, efficient systems, heat recovery, Knowledge and interest in the implementation of sustainability measures in designs Be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), and proficient in relevant IT systems Have some knowledge of carbon budgets, net zero carbon, net zero energy, CDP, SBT, CRREM, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, ISO standards Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes of practice Willingness to travel if required to the UK & Mainland Europe to assess and survey existing and potential properties.
