About the Role : We are seeking an innovative Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with a continuous improvement mindset to join our dynamic team in Dublin.
The ideal candidate will have a previous experience in either quantity surveying, cost management or project controls within a mechanical subcontracting environment.

Key Responsibilities : Quantity Surveying : Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs and estimations from engineering drawings, isometrics, specifications, and P&IDs.
Ensure accurate and timely measurement of works, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for in the final cost plan.
Prepare and submit detailed reports, valuations, and payment applications.
Cost Management : Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all costs are tracked and reported.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and strategies, ensuring the project stays within budget while maintaining high standards.
Analyse cost data and trends to inform future projects and improve cost-efficiency.
Experience working with Coins, SAP or Oracle data is beneficial.
Payment Applications : Prepare, submit, and follow up on payment applications to ensure timely cash flow.
Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to payment.
Subcontractor Contract Administration : Administer subcontractor agreements, including reviewing and managing contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that all subcontractor works are procured efficiently and within budget.
Manage subcontractor performance, including monitoring progress, verifying work completed, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Change Management : Handle the pricing and management of variations to the project scope, ensuring that all changes are documented and approved.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to assess the impact of changes on project cost and schedule.
Ensure all variations are captured, valued, and communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner.
Collaboration and Communication : Liaise with project teams, including engineers, project managers, and clients, to ensure clear communication and collaboration on cost-related matters.
Attend project meetings, providing input on cost management and contractual issues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices within the QS team.
Reporting and Documentation : Prepare regular reports on project cost performance, forecasting, and financial status.
Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, ensuring that documentation is up to date and easily accessible.
Provide support in the preparation of final accounts, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for.
Qualifications : Degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying, Project Controls, or Project Management role within a mechanical subcontracting environment.
Strong understanding of cost management, contract administration, and change management.
Proficiency in working with isometrics, specifications, and P&IDs.
Very High Proficiency in working with MS Excel
