We are recruiting a Medical Senior House Officer (SHO) to join our busy multi-disciplinary team.
Based in our Dublin 7 hospital or our day hospital in Cherrywood.
This is part time fixed term position.

Key responsibilities of the role in the day hospitals: Follow the Hospital admissions process by documenting History and Physical examination the designated Initial Medical Assessment Form.
Assess/review and document findings for patients as requested by the attending Consultant and/or Nursing Staff in a timely and legible manner.
To review patients on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made and inform the consultant or relevant registrar of any issues or problems.
Prescribe medications for patients as required as directed by consultant.
Participate in ward rounds.
Complete the discharge process with an electronic discharge letter.
Cover admissions in the Same Day Surgery Unit / Heart Centre Day Unit To liaise with, Consultant radiologists, radiographers, Nursing, administrative and support staff to providing services in the Day Hospitals.
To work on a rota basis, as one of a team of doctors, to ensure that medical supervision and care is provided to all patients attending the Day Hospitals.
To ensure that all patients scheduled for diagnostic imaging tests undergo a comprehensive medical assessment where required.
The purpose of this assessment is to identify and highlight any potential problems.
The doctor at the Day Hospitals is also responsible for taking bloods, prescribing and administrating drugs, and cannulating the patient as required.
Also responsible for completing discharge summary where required.
To ensure that acute medical care is provided at the Day Hospitals during emergencies.
Provide medical care to patients experiencing side effects following the administration of drugs used during radiological exams.
Requirements for the above post: Bachelor of Medicine with at least 2 years post internship experience Registration with Irish Medical Council Candidates are required to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an awareness and sensitivity towards patient needs, excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to multitask and work under pressure and a willingness to work cooperatively as part of a team in an acute hospital setting over multiple locations.
