Due to continued growth, they're looking for a MRF Plant Production Supervisor to join the team.
The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
You will be responsible for supervising personnel, ensuring efficient plant operations, optimizing productivity and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily operations of MRF personnel, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely, while serving as the primary point of contact for all staff within the MRF.
Identify and implement best practices to maximise production output and improve the efficiency of MRF and yard operations.
Regularly review performance data, motivating and guiding the team to meet or exceed KPI targets.
Collaborate with the MRF Manager to create work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels and annual leave coverage.
Monitor daily activities, including staffing, material handling, and production targets, ensuring optimal resource utilisation such as fuel, staffing hours, and compliance with the 5S methodology.
Ensure incoming loads meet quality standards for processing, addressing contamination issues promptly and adjusting pricing where necessary.
Oversee the compliant and efficient handling, sorting, and delivery of waste materials to designated outlets, ensuring pre-sorting by loading machine operators is performed.
Monitor and enforce revenue and cost-control measures, including accurate categorisation of waste, monitoring weighbridge traffic, and tracking diesel usage.
Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance programme for all fixed and mobile plant equipment within the MRF, ensuring daily cleaning and maintenance are completed and scheduled PM activities are coordinated with maintenance teams.
Ensure all staff are adequately trained and adhere strictly to Health & Safety guidelines, addressing any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
What They're Looking For: Proven supervisory experience in a production or waste management environment.
Experience supervising teams in a labour-intensive, multi-shift operation.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate staff.
Familiarity with operating and maintaining MRF equipment and mobile plant machinery.
