Position Description The role of the Supervisor includes responsibility for delivery of project work as assigned in the areas of Network Projects, from 38kV to 400kV. This may involve some elements of substation work, underground cable works, overhead line work and/or other work streams as required. These roles play an important part in working with the teams to deliver on ESB's Net Zero Strategy and on the government Climate Action Plan. The Networks Projects Delivery team are specifically responsible for project execution from the point when the capital expenditure has been approved through to asset handover to Network Assets, This inclueds energisation dates, landowner management, resourcing, materials, quality, safet, commercial management and realisation of the business cases. Networks Projects Delivery provides assurance that contractors deliver on their contractual commitments and works in close partnership with Network Assets and Network Customer Delivery in the delivery of these major projects and there is a consistent and repeatable approach to major projects to ensure the best outcome for ESB. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the items below: Facilitating the delivery of several projects, including planning, organizing, directing and controlling the projects Interfacing with local network controllers, delivery teams, materials/stores, and other suppliers/stakeholders Managing landowners and other local stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects Scheduling project work and tracking and reporting on progress and performance Managing productivity and performance of resources tasked with delivery of the projects Assisting with and reporting on project costs Ensuring a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the publicand assessing and reporting on quality of tasks and work during construction Managing contractors (subcontractors including interfaces with internal teams) Experience Essential At least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the delivery of HV Substation Projects or Overhead Line Works Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of HV Substation or Overhead Line construction Project Management Experience Experience of Quality Management Experience in Project Delivery Knowledge of ESB Networks structure and operation experience in working and delivering on the transmission and distribution networks Qualifications Essential Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate or/ a suitable Level 7 or higher qualificationin Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification, (with a sizeable electrical theory content) Location This role is based in EMP's office OneDac Dublin Airport andmay require a significant amount of travel (often at short notice) throughout Ireland. This role will be working on projects located in Dublin and Regional areas. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
