We at the Glashaus Hotel are currently recruiting for a Night Manager to join our growing team!
Purpose / Overview To work as part of a team dedicated to promoting the positive image of the Hotel to guests and colleagues by maintaining high standards at all times ensuring exemplary guest service.
Also, to ensure the security of our guests and the hotel property at all times while on duty.
Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities To meet, greet and assist guests with luggage on arrival and departure.
Taking messages on behalf of guests and management and ensuring such messages are passed on promptly and accurately.
Accounting accurately for all monies and charges on behalf of the hotel .
Regular security patrols To be responsible for the routine cleaning of public areas and toilets within the property as outlined in your nightly checklist.
The up-keep and implementation of standards with the department in accordance with quality system agreed.
To ensure complete customer care at all times.
To communicate hotel services to guests.
To ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the premises.. To comply with all statutory and legal requirements and Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, licensing and Employment, ensuring that you are fully aware and practice company policies and procedures in these important areas.
To be flexible with regard to working hours in order to handle any unexpected requirements.
Security of people and premises as well as attention of fire security and safety is top priority at all times.
Lead and supervise team members by setting a positive example. Instruct, train and develop all Team members.
Identify key trainers within the department to ensure hands-on training is carried out on a frequent basis with new and existing team members.
Liaise with suppliers to arrange produce training, e.g.
wine, spirits, water and coffee training.
Achieve effective communication by briefing and debriefing team, holding regular departmental meetings and actively encouraging communication between all the Food & Beverage teams, Kitchen, Management and with other departments within the hotel.
Liaise with Human Resources on recruitment, performance management and development of all team members.
Prepare rosters within guidelines of the appropriate industrial legislation for team ensuring effective coverage whilst maintaining cost effectiveness and ensuring they are done in a designated time frame.
Ensure the company code of conduct and team hand book are adhered to.
Ensure that "Responsible Service of Alcohol"/" Liquor Licensing" guidelines are adhered to throughout the service of alcoholic beverages (as per regulatory law).
Ensure HACCP/food safety training is completed and all the HACCP policies and procedures are followed Have a full understanding of emergency procedures.
Understand Work Health and Safety policies and procedures and abide by them at all times.
Ensure guest security and privacy is maintained at all times.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Qualifications First Aid Training is essential Fire Warden training Manual Handling Training Knowledge The ability to work on their own initiative, as well as being capable of working as part of a team.
A warm, friendly and approachable personality when dealing with fellow staff and guests.
Prior Experience Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a property of the same or similar size.
