Windmill Healthcare are currently recruiting for experienced fulltime, permanent Activities Co-ordinator to join our Care Team at our Willow Brooke Care Centre. This role reports to the Director of Nursing / Person in Charge, and works side by side with the Activities Co-ordinator and team. The role of the Activities Assistant at Willow Brooke Care Centre is to assist in the provision of quality care to clients/residents by the provision of a comprehensive activities programme for residents in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties: Organising and maintaining daily activities including arts and crafts, baking, gardening, flower arranging, quizzes, card games, bingo, exercise sessions, walks, hand massages, nail care, and arranging hairdressing appointments.Review resident activity assessments regularly or as needs change.Planning and implementing special activities such as outings, garden visits, birthday parties, and seasonal celebrations.Drawing up a daily and weekly program of activities.Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants and encouraging their participation.Establish an open relationship with each resident and encourage their participation.Educate staff to provide resident activities.Record attendance of residents at all activities in EpiCare using the Therapies notes.Liaise with local library services to assist residents in selecting and returning library books.Maintain daily files and charts for each Resident providing clear evidence of activities planned and carried out.Keep nursing staff updated on residents' conditions.Assist with the orientation of new Residents to the Care Centre environment.Attend training courses both in-house and at other locations to enhance the service provided by Willow Brooke Care Centre.Report any concerns about a resident to the lead nurse in charge.Eligibility Criteria: Qualifications: Essential: Leaving Certificate
Desirable: Healthcare Qualification
Experience: Essential: Experience in a Nursing Home or Social Care environment.
Desirable: Specialist skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts.
Core Aptitudes: Enjoy working with older people.Be a committed, patient and caring person with a sense of humor and a positive outlook on life.Highly motivated with excellent communication skills to deliver activity programmes.The ability to work well in a team and liaise with other staff, volunteers, and residents.Act as a good role model.Creative.Possess excellent teaching skills.What do we offer?
