Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is recruiting an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in Occupational Health and Infection Prevention and Control for a position in the south of Dublin with excellent links to the M50. This position is a full-time position.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Clinical focus (Direct & Indirect Care)Wellbeing AdvocacyEducation and trainingAudit and researchProvide the delivery of a programme of effective OH care for all hospital employees.Coordinate and lead on OH programme.Manage, record and report on vaccination programmes for employees, including planning and coordinating immunisation programmes for employees.Carry out health assessments of employees to ascertain their fitness, advise on adaptations and to identify higher risk individuals and those who will be working with occupational hazards.Provide immunization programmes and identify new areas of health assessment.Provide ongoing health assessment services to employees, including screening and follow up.Manage nurse-led OH clinics and referrals to OH medical services as appropriate.The clinical practice role may be divided into direct and indirect care. Direct care comprises the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care to the service user, family and/or carer. Indirect care relates to activities that influence and support the provision of direct care.Provide a specialist Nursing service for service users with a diagnosis of a transmissible infection who require support and treatment through the continuum of care.Make alterations in the management of service users' care in collaboration with the MDT and the patient in line with agreed pathways and policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines (PPPG's).Accept appropriate referrals from MDT colleagues.Co-ordinate investigations as appropriate.Communicate with service users and MDT as appropriate, to assess service users' needs and provide relevant support, information, education, and advice as required.Where appropriate work collaboratively with MDT colleagues across Primary and Secondary Care to provide a seamless service delivery to the service user.Identify and promote specific symptom management strategies as well as the identification of triggers which may cause exacerbation of symptoms.Manage nurse-led Infection Control Seminars for healthcare personnel with MDT input.Identify health promotion priorities for service users in line with best evidence. This will include the provision of educational and health promotion material, which is comprehensive, easy to understand and meets service user's needs.Interested candidates are required to have:
Full NMBI registration.Have successfully completed a post-registration programme of study in Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 award, or higher relevant to the specialist area of IPC prior to application.OR / Can provide written evidence from a higher education institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 award or higher standard, relevant to the specialist area of IPC.Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration full-time experience.Have a minimum of 1 year's full-time experience (or an aggregate of 1 year's full-time experience) in the specialist area of Occupational Health and Infection Prevention and Control.REMUNERATION: Clinical Nurse Specialist full-time gross salary scale €59,070 - €69,834 as of 01st June 2024. HOURS: 18.75 hours per week, exclusive of unpaid rest breaks and hybrid working arrangements are available.
