Position Description ESB Aghada Generating Station consists of a 435MW Alstom single shaft combined cycle gas turbine and 3 x 90 MW Alstom dual fuel open cycle gas turbines. The successful candidate will work across the Operations, Maintenance, and Assurance teams within the station to the level of their competence to carry out their duties. They will provide support to other teams and projects. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others is required. The successful candidate will give and receive training as defined by plant management to attain and maintain outside normal business hours and/or shift work is a feature of this role. Key Responsibilities Duties of the role include, but may not be limited to: Power Plant Operations and Maintenance duties to level of competence in line with strict safety, environmental,commercial, and chemical requirements Delivering and supporting work across all areas of the station. The completion of planned and routine technical and engineering services activities. Support the delivery of station related projects. Use of ESB computer systems for operations,maintenance, and administration duties. Carry out authorized roles under the safety rules as required. Attain, retain, and demonstrate competencies associated with the role. Any other duties which may be assigned to you, from time to time, by Station Management. Flexible working hours including weekend and night working and be available to provide cover out of normal working hours. Planned rostered rotation between shift work and non-shift work (When working shift, a shift allowance will apply). Experience and Qualifications Essential Analysing and applying process and control information to respondappropriately to plant operational conditions. Working knowledge of PC's and computerised control systems Good written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Experience of power station operations or a similar heavy process industry. A good working knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards. Environmental, safety and chemistry compliance experience. Relevant CSCS tickets and qualifications. Awareness of Safe System of Work Experience using Maintenance/Operations Management Systems. Location This position is based in Aghada Generating Station, Co. Cork.
