Job Title: Data Protection Officer Location: Base location, Stamullen, Co. Job Objectives: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR, across our organization.
This part-time role (20 hours/week) involves monitoring compliance, managing data breaches, handling subject access requests, and liaising with supervisory authorities and stakeholders.
This is a crucial role in safeguarding personal data and ensuring best practices in data protection.
The successful candidate will be reporting into the Director of Quality and Safety.
  Key Responsibilities   Ensure Compliance: Guarantee all operations comply with GDPR regulations and relevant Data Protection Acts.
Breach Reporting: Respond promptly to any data breach, ensuring it is reported to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner within 72 hours and providing any necessary follow-up reports.
Data Protection Oversight: Actively monitor and respond to all data protection issues, ensuring they are addressed in a timely manner.
Point of Contact for Data Subjects : Serve as the primary contact for data subjects, handling inquiries and requests related to their personal data rights.
Advice and Training: Advise various department heads, including HR, Finance, Clinical, and Quality Assurance, on GDPR obligations and best practices.
Subject Access Requests (SARs): Process SARs, right-to-erasure requests, and objections in compliance with GDPR regulations, typically within a one-month timeframe.
Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA): Advise on and monitor DPIAs, ensuring successful implementation and completion.
Cooperate with Supervisory Authorities: Serve as the main contact for the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and ensure collaboration during audits and compliance inquiries.
Policy Development: Maintain and submit data protection policies and practices to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner for audits and inspections.
Transparent Data Processing: Ensure all data processing is lawful, fair, and transparent.
Data Record Maintenance : Maintain up-to-date records of data subject information for easy inspection and compliance.
Liaison for FOI and Ombudsman Requests: Act as the liaison for FOI requests with the Health Service Executive (HSE) and manage communications with the Ombudsman's office.
Records Management: Oversee information and records management practices to align with industry best standards.
