Patch Management Engineer (Windows & Linux)Ergo are seeking a Server OS Patch Management Engineer for a permanent role in Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Linux and Windows servers are up-to-date with the latest OS security patches and updates. This role involves planning, testing, deployment, and verification of patches, while minimizing disruptions to business operations. You will work closely with IT security, operations, and application teams to maintain system integrity and security.

What will you do? Patch Management: Plan, schedule, and execute the deployment of patches and updates for Linux and Windows servers.Testing: Deploy patches and perform basic technical acceptance testing (TAT) to servers in a controlled environment before handing over to application/business teams to perform user acceptance testing (UAT), prior to deploying them to production systems to ensure compatibility and stability.Monitoring: Monitor systems for compliance with patch management policies and report on the status of patch levels across the infrastructure.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of patch management processes, schedules, and procedures.Incident Management: Respond to and resolve issues related to patch deployment and system updates.Collaboration: Work closely with IT security, network, and application teams to ensure that patches do not adversely affect system operations.Reporting: Generate regular reports on patch compliance and provide updates to management on patch management activities.What do you need? Proficiency in managing patch deployment for both Linux (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server operating systems.Strong understanding of patch management tools such as SCCM / Intune / Config Manager / YUM / APT / SpacewalkMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on patch management for Linux and Windows servers.Experience working in a large-scale enterprise environment.Professional certifications are desirable: MS Windows Server, RHCSA, RHCE, ITIL
