Job Details PEACEPLUS YouthImPact YouthImPact (YIP) is a cross-border partnership of four regional organisations: Pobal, Co-operation Ireland (CI) (Lead Partner); Ulster University (UU) and the National Youth Council Ireland (NYCI).
Collectively, this partnership has been funded to act in the role of Quality & Impact Body for PEACEPLUS Youth Programme.
The objective of this partnership is to provide a quality assurance and impact support role for the work and workers in the PEACEPLUS Youth Programme, who will be delivering peace-building programmes for young people aged 14-24 across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland.
YIP will offer training to youth workers and practitioners to improve their peace building and capacity to work with young people.
Key themes will feature across all projects: good relations and peacebuilding; citizenship and building social activism; personal development; employability skills development; positive progression; what is youth work?
The project will deliver this role through a range of activities including learning and best practice events, Young Voices events, providing guidance and developing and disseminating resources.
This will allow youth projects to maximise their impact and deliver high quality outputs.
YIP will build a network for progression services and statutory career services.
YIP uses the principles of co-design, participatory processes and strengths-based approaches to build a strong community of practice.
Role Requirements Role Requirement 1 Training and Facilitation Skills Developing supportive working relationships with the project partnership.
Hold regular planned and ad-hoc meetings, (in person, on site and remote) as and when support is needed.
Devise a "Support and Development plan" for each delivery partnership based on consultation and need.
Develop and deliver partnership specific sessions on emerging themes from the development plan.
Facilitate linkages, networking and collaboration between project partnerships.
Act as a resource for information and signposting.
Developing and delivering regional cluster group sessions with an emphasis on strengthening and developing cross border connections.
Engaging and supporting isolated project workers in the border region of Ireland.
Role Requirement 2 Building and Maintaining Relationships Building strategic relationships for the purpose linking project partners into career and progression services for project participants.
Developing, promoting and signposting project partners in the border region of Ireland to career and employment services.
Role Requirement 3 Project Management Participate in and represent YIP team in appropriate external networks and fora.
Follow the communications rules of the PEACEPLUS programme including the use of logos on all printed material.
The post holder will have joint responsibility for the planning, promotion and delivery of the "Young Voices Events".
Setting up meetings with statutory career services, County Education and Training Boards and voluntary sector employment support services in the border region of Ireland.
Developing progression focused e-zines to share information on career and progression services.
Develop and deliver 3 Young Voices events Role Requirement 4 Administration and Organisation Record meetings with project partnerships.
Participate in YIP team meetings and provide regular updates.
Work with YIP team to support the implementation of an evaluation system.
Work with YIP team to organise training events for Youth Programme project staff, gathering resources, designing and delivering workshops, booking venues & speakers, promoting events to Youth Programme project staff.
Work with YIP team to develop and locate youth work resources.
Work with YIP team to develop on-line resources where necessary.
Required Experience Minimum of 3 years prior work experience in a youth work setting.
Strong relationship building skills and experience of working in partnership with other organisations and agencies.
Hands on experience of developing and delivering training.
Understanding and/or experience of promoting good relations, reconciliation, and/ or cross-border peacebuilding work.
Ability and willingness to travel to locations in the ROI Border Counties and throughout N. Ireland.
Proficient in MS packages e.g.
Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Qualifications Relevant Third Level qualification (e.g.
Certificate, Diploma, Degree) or a recognised professional youth work qualification.
