DescriptionCodec are looking for a Portfolio Manager to join their team.

Key ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully delivers programmes of high complexity, leading by example, being visible and accessible, and setting the tone and pace for the programme.Clearly communicates engagement goals and success criteria, specifying required outcomes.Sets clear priorities and maintains focus upon the critical path.Establishes a coherent, supportive, and effective working relationship with all stakeholders.Ensures that we operate in a contractually compliant manner throughout; similarly ensuring that the client meets their obligations.Establishes effective and proportionate governance and controls.Ensures that a clear and objective assessment of programme performance is regularly reported.Understands and safeguards the critical path.Anticipates and mitigates risk, resolving exceptions wherever they arise.Maintains focus upon benefits tracking and realization throughout delivery.Meets or exceeds commitments regarding programme success criteria.Takes ownership of, and leads client and subcontractor engagements, being the 'figure head' for the programme.Engages client and subcontractor stakeholders, building and nurturing positive, sustaining relationships at all levels of the programme.Communicates effectively and influences positive outcomes.Gains insight into client culture and values, adapting engagement accordingly.Understands the client business case.Directs and engages the programme team to optimize client satisfaction.Exemplifies and role-models the Codec values.Applies effective team and people management skills to construct, shape, engage, and optimize performant programme teams.Engages the team, engendering trust and confidence, building a positive team culture.Coaches, guides, and directs Senior Project Managers and PMO Leads.Influences, organizes, and directs the programme team.Confronts and challenges poor performance and encourages team members to contribute ideas. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseAt least 5 years' recent experience of successfully delivering complex programmes; evidence of successful delivery of programmes utilizing waterfall, agile, and hybrid methods.Demonstrate a depth and breadth of commercial, financial, and risk management experience.Have a direct influence on the profitability of the program.Introduce innovation and efficiency in the delivery of programmes; proactively identify and mitigate avoidable costs.Drive successful commercial and financial outcomes.Embed and ensure contractual compliance.Ensure effective risk identification, management, and mitigation across the programme.Apply sound judgment, anticipating opportunities and threats, taking proportionate action in a timely fashion.
