Postdoctoral Fellow at RCSI: The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Fellow to join the School of Population Health and Department of General Practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team focused on developing state-of-the-art population-based analytic data systems to support health research and clinical decision-making.

PhD in health informatics, computer science, statistics, data science, or a related disciplineSignificant experience in database management, particularly with health data or in a clinical settingStrong technical skills in SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, and data integration toolsProven track record of managing data in compliance with GDPR and other data protection standardsExperience working with health research ethics committees and understanding of ethical approval processesStrong analytical skills and proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., R, Stata)Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-oriented environmentJob Description: The position involves collaborating with Centric Health to develop a population-based analytic data system for decision support, population monitoring, and comparative effectiveness research. Key duties include:
Designing and developing database architectureEnsuring seamless integration and management of health data from various sourcesDeveloping analytical tools and reporting mechanismsManaging data privacy and security in compliance with GDPREngaging with stakeholders to align database management strategies with project goalsProviding technical support and troubleshootingCreating documentation and conducting training sessions for usersManaging project timelines and deliverablesLeading and co-authoring papers for peer-reviewed publicationsDisseminating research results at scientific meetings and through other channelsHow to Apply: Interested candidates should apply online at RCSI Careers with their CV and Covering Letter by 5pm on the closing date.
