DESCRIPTION

The AWS Power Solutions Team (IET) team owns the origination and execution of energy projects that enable and optimize AWS access to grid connection capacity across the EMEA region. The AWS Energy Team is seeking a talented individual to join as a Power Analyst who will help the commercial evaluation and support strategic projects that underpin Amazon's decarbonization goals. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to progress initiatives that reshape our business's energy solutions.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skillsets with a passion for producing high-quality work. In this role, you will support the stakeholder, administrative, and contractual lifecycle of delivering power projects to support future AWS data centers throughout EMEA. This role provides an opportunity for a technically minded individual interested in building a foundation to further develop their skillset and advance their career within the energy sector. The successful candidate will support the evaluation and management of strategic projects. This position involves direct contact with experienced energy infrastructure and renewables leaders, cross-functional program managers, senior leaders, and business partners. A successful candidate will have knowledge of the energy sector, experience in delivering technical analysis and solutions, process optimization, and a passion for sustainability and decarbonization. Strong communication skills are a basic requirement.

Key job responsibilities
• Support technical analyses and business cases for strategic projects and energy modelling solutions that enable business growth and align with Amazon's global sustainability goals.
• Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Supply Strategy, Real Estate, and Capacity Delivery) on the day-to-day programme management and reporting across the portfolio of power projects.
• Enable effective decision making by managing and aggregating datasets and key performance indicators from multiple sources to provide a single source of truth on status, cost, capacity, key dates, and contractual terms management across a portfolio of power projects.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of continual process improvement initiatives related to operational efficiency, team effectiveness, and new value-add activities.
• Support management of Contracts (Master Agreements, Work Orders, and other contractual documents) relating to projects.
• Design and develop automated reporting solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience building strong working relationships, both internally and externally. Possess strong organization and communication skills.
• 2+ Years' demonstrated understanding of core financial concepts like time value of money, net present value, and project budgeting for CAPEX and OPEX spend. Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Power Systems, Energy, or Statistics.
• 2+ years' experience with contract management experience.
• 2+ years' experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
