Position DescriptionThis is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an energetic innovative individual to work in the ESBs Corporate Innovation Hub team based in ESB X_Site. The Corporate Innovation team is responsible for cross-business unit innovation in ESB – facilitating the development of new lines of business, products and services, aiding in the delivery of ESBs Net Zero strategy.
The successful candidate will work with X_Site Product Development, Strategic and Operational teams supporting Senior Product Managers in developing and delivering potential new products/services/lines of business (Product) from nominated concept managed through the innovation stage-gate process to commercial delivery in conjunction with ESB businesses and external partners.
Key ResponsibilitiesCreate products and services that have the potential to enable the delivery of our Net Zero future in line with the ESB Innovation Management Framework and best in class product and service design standards.Identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.Developing and testing prototypes for products and services in development - Delivery of Customer Trials and pilots - Design and plan the pilots; recruit and engage customers & research partners; select technology and partners; liaise with installation partners; analyse results and iterate as required.Developing commercial business case – including product pricing, partner & production costs, relevant procurements; associated return-on-investment analyses, grant/funding identification and application.Manage performance of technical delivery partners and third-party contractors.Provide technical and other specialist product advice/support to residential and business markets as required.Keep up to date with national and international developments in new energy products and services and non-energy product and service propositions and provide competitor and market intelligence to the business.Experience and Qualifications2+ years working in Product Management or Project Management.Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.Passion for product, technology, innovation, and creation of great customer experiences.Strong understanding of customer centric product and service development.A strong customer service ethos, ideally with experience in management of customer service, including dealing directly with customers.Experience in financial modelling; development of business cases and use of business model canvas.Experience in design thinking.Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.Proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of responsibility.Possesses excellent business judgement, strong written and oral communication skills and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.Strong understanding of all types of product and service design approaches.Prior experience working directly with Consumers.Very good knowledge of electricity retail sector, competitive landscape and emerging trends.LocationESB X_Site, Dogpatch Labs, Dublin 1
