Building a sustainable tomorrow We are currently recruiting a Project Accountant to join the Finance team based in Kildare.
The aim of this role within the Finance function is: To create value, reduce risks and drive higher margins through proactive management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
To support the Business Controller.
To ensure that all Company, statutory and legislative requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Your mission Strategy and Analysis •    Business Management & Support – Support the development of the capabilities, tools, techniques and models to enable finance to influence and drive better decision making in the organisation.
•    Rationalise and improve the production of management reporting and analysis across processes, commercial policy, people and technology.
•    CAPEX Investments - Supporting the Finance Business Partner and the Business Unit with analysis of, and justification for, CAPEX investments and post investment analysis.
This includes supporting business cases and post-investments analysis, and drawing on lessons for future investments and budgeting.
Budgeting and Forecasting •    OP (Operating Plan) process – Assist with setting the Business Unit Operational Plan financial targets, in line with the Segment / Division strategic plans to enable the achievement of organisational performance goals, and establishing the OP planning cycle which includes: •    Provision of OP Business Unit templates and supporting guidance •    Providing the business with information to support the OP process •    Active involvement in the OP process including Business Unit reviews •    Supporting with any narrative requirements •    Review of the Business Unit financial risk and opportunity registers •    Periodic Forecast Process – Assist the Business Controller  with the Business Unit Periodic Forecast process, which is predicting the (financial) performance of the organisation against the (financial) targets and report on the achievement of organisational performance goals.
This includes quarterly forecasts (QF), monthly forecasts (MF), a rolling forecast for the liquidity and responsibilities as per OP process.
Control and Reporting •    Management Reporting – Contribute to developing and reporting of Business Unit management information to the organisation i.e.
Business Unit performance, overhead recovery levels, Cash & OWC.
Ensure Management reporting activities are aligned with organisation goals and objectives across the Business Unit.
Project Control and Reporting •    Project Control - Determine the critical success factors, opportunities, risks and performance indicators linked with project lifecycle stages.
Provide guidance and challenge in Business Unit reviews.
•    Project Reporting – Support the development and enhancement of the standard reporting suite of project financial information to be used across the Business Unit.
•    Tender Stage Gate Procedure (TSGP) - Assess the strategic goals regarding business development, pipeline quality and risk-return of tenders in the TSGP.
This includes: •    Advise on whether or not to tender, analyse risks, margins and other key controls and monitor sign-off procedures, in line with Stage Gate guidance •    Creating key financial and scenario-based models which support strategic business decisions.
•    Position Papers for Projects – Share Business Unit position papers with the auditor, helping them   understand the position taken on the projects in line with accounting standards e.g.
IFRS15.
•    Other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Who are we looking for?
The following are mandatory requirements: •    Be a qualified accountant and member of an accountancy body (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA).
•    Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP, COINS, Oracle etc.
The following are desirable requirements: •    Experience of providing financial support to operational managers in a project environment (Business Partnering), preferably in Construction/Engineering.
•    Experience of financial risk management, and of applying financial governance.
•    Strong organisational and time-management skills.
•    Effective communication skills – able to deliver persuasive arguments.
•    Analytical, proactive, highly motivated and enthusiastic, with good attention to detail.
•    Big 4 background/training preferable.
