ESB Asset Development is charged with delivery of the new generation assets required to meet ESB's Strategy of Net Zero by 2040. One key goal of the 2040 strategy is the de-carbonisation of our existing generation assets fleet.
Position Description ESB Asset Development is seeking applications for the role of Project Specialist, Onshore Wind. This is a broad-ranging and dynamic role. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for assisting the team of Project Managers to develop new and current onshore wind projects in Great Britain. The role will entail working in collaboration with our external development partners and within ESB's project delivery team to deliver construction ready projects. Preparation of drawings for land access and project development layouts using GIS and other technical software is a key duty of this post, along with general project support duties.
Key Responsibilities Supporting the development of renewable project(s) from initiation of Concept Phase through to start of construction.Complying with Health & Safety policies and procedures.Preparing initial site feasibility plans.Preparing and updating site layout and design plans.Preparing plans to accompany Option and Lease legal agreements.Supporting the co-ordination and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), and planning application preparation.Supporting external stakeholder management including local communities and local authorities.Supporting business administration and reporting functions.Regular management reporting.Assisting in the organisation, material preparation and arrangements for public exhibitions.Assisting in the organisation of sponsorship and awards activities.Knowledge, Skills and Experience Excellent working knowledge of GIS and other CAD software in the preparation of Site layout plans.Knowledge and Experience of either the wind or solar industry.Understanding of power generation business and renewable energy technology.Experience of stakeholder engagement and management.Good interpersonal skills.Knowledge and experience of the Planning and Environmental Consenting processes.At least 3 years postgraduate experience.Experience of WindPRO software would be an advantage.Qualifications Minimum of QQI Level 7 qualification or equivalent (Engineering, Business, Ecology, Geography or Planning related discipline desirable).Or equivalent work experience is required.Location The role is based in ESB's Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam St Lower, Dublin 2, this role will also entail business travel to the UK. The successful candidate will be expected to travel through both Ireland and the UK for field work and meetings, as required.
