EVM Limited Irelands leading minibus manufacturer is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for the sourcing of quality direct and indirect production materials while maximising cost savings and ensuring on time deliveries to the production process.
Key Responsibilities Work closely with the existing management team to identify parts requirement, place orders, schedule parts deliveries and manage logistics to ensure all parts required for the production teams are available when needed in the production process.
Forecast production requirements and manage the supply chain in line with minimum/maximum stock levels, delivery efficiencies and lead times to maintain the appropriate level of stock and ensure that the production flow is uninterrupted.
Manage logistics and work closely with the companys freight and customs agents to minimise costs and improve lead times while ensuring compliance with all international trade regulations, including import/export laws, customs regulations, and trade agreements.
Maintain and improve existing relationships with suppliers and negotiate the best prices possible for production parts.
Source new parts and new suppliers where necessary ensuring the delivery of quality materials for the production process focusing on quality, cost, economic order quantities and timely delivery.
Responsible for the promotion of cost saving throughout the company ordering processes.
Ensuring all supplier and parts data are up to date and accurately recorded on the companys ERP system.
Liaise with the Stores Department to ensure that all good in and goods out transaction are accurately recorded on the companys ERP system to deliver a live material requirement forecast.
Attend meetings and trade conferences when required.
Qualification & Experience: Degree/Diploma qualified insupply chain management, logistics, or procurement is preferredbut not a necessity.
A minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in the manufacturing environment Good knowledge of ERP computer systems and MS office Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness Must have excellent communication/negotiation skills.
