Connexus UK are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Sustainability Manager on behalf of our our Monaghan based client, a leading name in the food industry, In this role, you will develop and execute purchasing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and drive sustainability initiatives across all operations.
You will also be responsible for tracking key performance metrics to reduce expenses and improve overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, lead, and implement effective purchasing strategies.
Track and report KPIs to reduce costs, improve effectiveness, and mitigate risks.
Craft negotiation strategies, securing deals with optimal terms.
Forecast key prices and market trends, identifying shifts in buyer-supplier dynamics.
Perform cost and scenario analysis, including benchmarking.
Source and build partnerships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
Monitor and forecast upcoming demand levels.
Coordinate and lead the Origin Green sustainability programme within the business.
Stay updated on Irish/EU packaging legislation and liaise with packaging suppliers on sustainability efforts.
Maintain and manage the Valpak portal and submit reports to Repak biannually.
Lead and inspire a team, including Goods Inwards personnel and a Stock Controller.
What We're Looking For: Proven experience in a similar role with a strong background in purchasing and sustainability.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management experience.
Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with vendor/supplier management.
A keen interest in market dynamics and a solid understanding of business, particularly in retail.
Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and MS Excel.
A passion for sustainability and the drive to implement positive change.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement is preferred.
