Due to continuing expansion, CField are seeking motivated, qualified Quality Surveyors to join our existing team in the Cork area. The successful candidates will have exposure to and assist in the delivery of a wide variety of projects across multiple industry sectors including residential, commercial, pharma, industrial, educational and more. The primary base is in Cork, and the successful candidates will be predominantly site based, working with the wider site teams.
SUMMARY OF ROLE: Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, the successful Quantity Surveyor will assist in the delivery of large-scale projects. Working to support the effective management of project costs and ensuring accurate financial control, this is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: These include but are not limited to:
Assist the Managing Quantity Surveyor in ensuring successful delivery of all projectcommercial aspectsAssist in procurement, appointment and management of specialist contracts (subcontracts &suppliers) through to final account agreementAssist in preparing accurate monthly progress accountsSupport the preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress paymentsCollaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overrunsAssist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders on occasionDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with project teamsStay updated on industry trends, regulations etcAd-hoc reporting/requests when required by direct line managerKEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying essentialMinimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role with a main contractor /subcontractor essentialExcellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel,Outlook. Working knowledge of Buildsoft/Cubit/Bluebeam preferred but not essential astraining will be providedStrong communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to build excellent workingrelationships with a wide range of peopleExcellent presentation skillsExcellent numerical and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and excellent measurement knowledgeOrganised, with an ability to manage time effectivelyAbility to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working to tight deadlinesStrong knowledge and understanding of the construction industry and working on siteAmbitious, enthusiastic and career drivenAbility to work under pressure, individually and as part of a teamCOMPANY BENEFITS: Company pensionLife assuranceProfessional development & training opportunitiesCompany sponsored events & social activitiesThis job description is intended to cover the minimum duties and responsibilities required for this position.
