Role description: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor to focus on projects within the Life Sciences sector in Cork.
The successful QS will be working as part of a multidiscipline project Engineering team site based.
Pre-Contract responsibilities would include: Preparing capital cost estimatesImplementing Target Value Design (TVD)Carry out value engineering appraisals as required whilst coordinating with the Design Team and/or Employer in conjunction with the Contracts Manager/ Project Manager.Prepare pricing documents for tender packagesDrafting of PQQ questionnairesHandling queries during tender periodCommercial evaluation of all tender submissionsNegotiation with tenderersPost Contract duties would include: Valuing progress on site for interim certificatesTrack changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget forecasts accordingly – Manage commercial contractsExpediting contractors' insurances, bonds, and collateral warrantiesValidating contractors' final accountCashflow ManagementQualifications & Experience: Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent3+ years' experience in a Consultancy or Main contractor environment carrying out pre and post contract duties.Experience in Pharma/Biopharma a bonus but not essential.Strong understanding of building detail and construction technologyStrong IT skills, specifically in Excel, Cubit, Cost X and Outlook are beneficial.Why Arcadis?
