NES Fircroft are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work for a global infrastructure group, based in Ireland.
The role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying across a wide range of civil & electrical engineering projects such as Trenching and Ducting works, Overhead lines, High-Voltage Electrical Substations construction and refurbishment including both electrical and civil works.
The responsibilities of the role include: Leading the cost management function throughout all project stages.Processing of Contractor payments and assisting in Contract Administration.Preparation of Framework Tender documents.Co-ordinating Contractor Pre-qualification evaluations.Undertaking Commercial site audits.Carrying out analysis on historic projects and preparing cost estimates.Forecasting and monitoring of OPEX & CAPEX programs. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Self-motivation and ability to project manage own work and to work well within a team environment.Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.Ability to make quality decisions and judgments.Effective time management.Demonstrate a logical, yet imaginative approach to problem solving.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Flexible in all aspects of the role, including travel nationally.Strong negotiation skills.Strong report writing capability. Desirable: Knowledge of the administration of Construction Contracts eg. FIDIC Conditions of Contract (Red and Yellow books).Chartered status in a recognised professional institution.
Locations include Limerick, Portlaoise, Finglas, Leopardstown, Wilton or Dundalk. The base location can be any of the locations listed, and will be defined during the hiring process to accommodate both the team and the candidate.
The successful candidate may combine remote/smart working, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review. Please note that when attending the agreed base location, travel, accommodation, and related expenses will not be reimbursed.
Duration: Twelve months.
Hours of work: 8:30 to 17:00 (40 hours per week)
Working days: Monday to Friday.
