Main Purpose of Job: To assist in the organisation of the receptionist shift while on duty and to provide guests with an efficient and friendly welcome and departure.
Main Responsibilities: Front Office Operations: o Assist in the smooth operation of the reception desk.
o Welcome and acknowledge all guests in the reception and lobby area in a warm and friendly manner.
o Deliver excellent customer service to all guests at all times.
o Assist in the training and development of new team members.
o Communicate hotel and city services to guests.
o Balance all financial records and reports at the end of each shift.
o Communicate effectively with the accommodation manager and supervisors regarding room availability and guest requirements.
o Organise group luggage to and from bedrooms.
o Take and deliver messages on behalf of guests and managers.
o Maximise room revenue by offering best rates and upselling where possible.
o Ensure floats are balanced at the end of all shifts.
o Prepare rooming lists in conjunction with the reservations team.
o Perform routine cleaning of designated areas as required.
Customer Service: Provide efficient and friendly service to guests at all times.
Follow the hotel's key standards.
Provide a warm and friendly telephone service to guests.
Handle guest complaints professionally and to a 4-star standard.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with both guests and colleagues.
Health and Safety: Abide by the hotel's health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Report any health, safety, or environmental hazards within the hotel.
Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses while on duty.
Presentation and Grooming: Wear the correct uniform and name badge at all times while on duty.
Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
Other Duties: Attend relevant training courses as required.
Serve on hotel committees when required.
Carry out any other duties as directed by management.
Assist in other departments when necessary.
Contribute to the hotel's sustainability efforts by reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water consumption.
