Purpose of Position: The successful candidate will work with two or three other members of the interdisciplinary team to carry out a systematic literature review project as outlined above.
The candidate will be tasked with undertaking extensive SPSS data entry and analysis.
This will include review of academic articles from the fields of management, finance and human resource management to identify pre-prescribed variables and metrics.
Thereafter, prescribed detailed statistical analysis using SPSS will be undertaken.
Knowledge of financial performance metrics (e.g.
Tobin's Q, RoI) would be advantageous.
The post can be undertaken remotely, and the candidate must have internet and SPSS software access.
The National College of Ireland is seeking a research assistant to join the School of Business and contribute to a funded project in the area of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and academic discourse.
The project aims to undertake a systematic literature review which explores the ways in which EDI discourse is presented in management, finance and human resource management academic journals.
As a Research Assistant, you will be expected to interact with research which arises from all three of these scholarly domains (You do not need to have subject area expertise in these domains).
You will also be expected to produce high-quality deliverables to pre-defined deadlines.

Key Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will have the following responsibilities: Support the day to day running of the data inputting and provide initial descriptive analysis of the data of the project under the direction of the Project Lead and Co-Lead.
Conduct research activities as directed, under the supervision of the Project Lead and Co-Lead and contributing to the teamwork To provide ad hoc support as needed for the research team.
Key Qualifications & Experience : The successful candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience: A postgraduate qualification in any business or social science domain, ideally management, finance, human resource management or attendant fields.
(Desirable) A primary degree and/or be in the final stage of same in any business or social science domain, ideally management, finance, human resource management or attendant fields.
(Essential) Have experience of working with SPSS software.
(Essential) Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team (Essential).
Experience conducting research (Desirable) Experience with conducting systematic reviews and pa rticipatory research (Desirable) Experience of working with Mendeley software (Desirable) Possess self-motivation, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a small team environment (Essential) Salary: €22.00 per hour Contract: 2 Weeks Annual Leave: 8% Hours: 20 hours per week Application Process: To apply, please e-mail your cover letter and CV, quoting reference number: NCI 1053 to: by 5:00 pm, 13th September 2024.
