Senior Casualty Underwriter Wanted for Global Insurance Group – Dublin City Abrivia is currently seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join our client, an International Casualty and Property Insurer, situated in their Dublin City office.
This position will report directly to the Head of Underwriting and will focus on managing some of the company's largest accounts within the Casualty Sector.
Your Role: Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with designated brokers, effectively communicating the company's product offerings and value propositions.Business Development: Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers (BDMs) to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and cross-selling initiatives.Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical expert in the Casualty sector, establishing an external presence as a subject matter authority.Budgeting and Planning: Assist in the budgeting process by contributing to the formulation of strategic plans and providing accurate forecasts to support business planning efforts.Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of account-specific data to ensure alignment with underwriting strategies and compliance standards.Marketing Initiatives: Play an integral role in the implementation of marketing initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders to effectively communicate and promote offerings to broker partners and industry stakeholders.Your Skills: Proficiency in underwriting multiline accounts, showcasing expertise in assessing and managing various types of risks across different lines of business.Ability to operate effectively within delegated underwriting authority, demonstrating sound judgement and decision-making with minimal supervision.Strong skill set in risk analysis, with the capability to interpret and analyse claims data to inform underwriting decisions.Experience in underwriting and servicing multinational clients, with a solid understanding of program structures and compliance requirements associated with global operations.Proven track record of successful negotiation across all levels, coupled with the ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with brokers.Capability to attract and retain profitable business through strategic underwriting practices and client relationship management.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes in all interactions.Preferred experience in the Life Science sector, although not mandatory, will be advantageous.Working Arrangement: This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
