Our client, a renowned venue in Temple Bar, is seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Chef with a minimum of three years in a senior chef position.
The ideal candidate will effectively manage a team of five chefs and a kitchen porter crew.
This role requires a team-oriented chef who can maintain the current menu while providing input to enhance offerings based on traditional Irish cuisine.
Strong purchasing skills or Gross Profit (GP) management are not required, as these aspects are handled internally.
Additionally, having contacts to recruit more chefs would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities Team Management: Lead and manage a team of five chefs and the kitchen porter crew.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment in a busy kitchen setting.
Menu Maintenance: Maintain the existing menu with the opportunity to suggest improvements.
Ensure high standards of food quality and presentation, focusing on traditional Irish cuisine.
Operational Efficiency: Ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service in a fast-paced environment.
Coordinate effectively with the front-of-house team.
Recruitment: Utilise industry contacts to assist in recruiting additional chefs if needed.
Qualifications and Skills Experience: Minimum of three years in a senior chef position.
Proven ability to manage a kitchen team effectively.
Experience in the Irish bar or restaurant industry is essential.
Skills: Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive team dynamic.
Familiarity with traditional Irish cuisine.
Capability to maintain and enhance existing menu items.
Additional Preferences: Experience in recruiting and building kitchen teams is a plus.
