Senior CSA Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Construction) – Commercial Construction – Hyper-scale Data Centre Projects – Dublin This role represents a great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Estimator to secure their next permanent role. Our client is a well-established Data Centre General Contractor based in Dublin. They have enjoyed continued growth for many years. As a result, this company has an urgent requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis to successfully tender and win hyper-scale data centre projects across Europe and the UK.
Responsibilities: Preparing estimates & pre-construction budgets based on drawings and specificationsManage quantities and prepare a pricing documentObtain pricing for elements of the building from Irish and European subcontractors and suppliersUtilise spreadsheets to compare subcontractor's bids and quotations, and to demonstrate reasoning for selecting subcontractorsAssist in maintaining the cost database & regional metricsPresent the estimate to the Estimating Director, and to the Board of Directors, where and when requiredBuild relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc)Keep informed with developments in the construction industry & industry bodiesParticipate in the development of procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control in the documents produced by the Pre-Con, Estimating & Proposals DepartmentCo-operate with the application of quality assurance proceduresEngage in personal development planning and performance review procedures, as requiredEnsure confidentiality is maintained with respect to all information obtained during employment, particularly with respect to information provided by, or obtained from, othersUnderstand the requirement to achieve a high level of quality in the production of subcontractor tender documentation and our client's tender submissionUnderstand the company's high standards of safetyAble to identify potential risks on a projectRequirements: A Quantity Surveying or Estimating background with at least 8 years' experience.Pre-construction experience is desirableHave successfully completed and graduated from a third level degree course accredited in quantity surveying, construction economics or an equivalent relevant area of studyPossess an acceptable proficiency, both written and oral, in the English languageProficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and in at least one of the more widely used QS BQ production software packages – e.g. Buildsoft or CostXValid Safe pass cardPossession of a full Irish Driving LicenceThe ideal candidate will be based in Dublin or be willing to travel from nearby.Benefits: Opportunity to work with a global leader in the data centre industryAttractive salary packageCollaborative team working environmentHighly secure role with extensive book of projects already confirmed
