Position Summary The person in this role will develop and drive the Alexion Operations (AO) Product strategy in alignment with Alexion Product vision and optimize performance along the AO value chain by managing complexity and driving product strategic decisions with senior management within AO Operations & Executive Leaders to ensure cost-effective, reliable supply across lifecycle of a product.The position has end-to-end accountability for all product related aspects and can make / propose the right enterprise tradeoffs.
The person in this role will act as the single point of contact within AO for the product, ensuring a robust, timely, high-quality supply, which will ultimately lead in the cost evolution of the product with AO Manufacturing Facilities.Principal ResponsibilitiesDefines and executes the Product Supply Strategy, Life-Cycle Management Strategy, Product Risk management and Product Roadmap to ensure robust, high quality and on-time supply in alignment with stakeholders (commercial, R&D & Patient).
Oversee Product KPIs across product life cycle.This includes responsibility for developing and controlling the Product:Long term demand and Network planningcost leadership / TPC Roadmap, with focus on efficiency gains, supply network optimization.E2E Pipeline Lead Time / TPT reduction,Inventory Optimization plan and write off minimization.Business Continuity & Risk strategy.Product strategy representative within AO and for AO as the Interface with associates across the business (Commercial, GPT/ GMT), Global Drug Development and Global Drug Regulatory Affairs, etc.Lead cross-functional product team in a matrix organization across AO, R&D, Commercial, Quality & Patient Experience.Implements and Leads the Cost Leadership program with the focus of efficiency gain, supply network optimization and business continuity.Lead the Product Evaluation for Supply point decision, for New Products & New Indications with focus on complexity reduction.Liaise with Manufacturing Head, ensuring optimal site allocation, drug substance manufacture, DP filling, packaging, device assembly, launch and commercialization.
Liaise with Technical Ops Head, ensuring the process improvement for the Product are aligned with the Product strategy and driving to become best in Class in the Industry.Defines integrated strategic and operational product specific manufacturing plans with the objective to optimize value, time and resources and ensure strong execution of plans; leads scenario evaluation for different supply options.
Identifies life cycle management events for products, e.g.
launches, site changes, process improvements, capacity expansions, new presentations, issue resolution and technology transfers.
Lead New Product Launch Project Team and ensures successful launch readiness.Leads end-to-end Product Allocation for Product programs according to the guiding principles for Product allocation.
Drives product Allocation process for Product programs to assure Product Supply Strategy and Product vision for Alexion.Co-ordinates escalations and resolution for major deviations, crisis management and acts as interface for the Product in the Commercial S&OP for the relevant products.Provides Product Reports to respective executive teams, facilitates pro-active communication and timely decision making.Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements (including record management) and continuous improvement of quality relevant processes within area of responsibility.Support any new business development deals and opportunities acting as the SPL on the integration teamQualificationsA minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical experience overseeing Manufacturing operations, Supply Chain operations and/or CMC, with multiple areas of expertise preferredAbility to lead in a complex matrix environment dealing with continued change and conflicting prioritiesAbility to bridge between scientific, technical and commercial functions for effective collaboration and driving resultsDemonstrated ability to manage life cycle projects of high complexity (NPI, pruning, divestment, integration)Solid understanding of Standard Manufacturing costs desirableEducationBusiness or Science Degree required.
