Senior Ecologist – Bat Specialist

Our client is thrilled to invite a passionate and experienced Senior Ecologist and Bat Specialist to join their vibrant environmental team! This exciting role is based in one of their multiple Irish offices, offering the chance to be a key player in the expansion of our client's environmental business. You'll collaborate with talented professionals and gain exposure to a diverse range of environmental sectors, including feasibility assessments, planning, EIAR, and infrastructure design. Responsibilities As a Senior Bat Specialist/Ecologist, you'll take charge of medium to large projects, from inception to completion, and report to the Principal Ecologist/Technical Director. You'll be involved in writing engaging reports, analyzing bat data, coordinating and leading bat and ecological surveys, and implementing bat mitigation strategies. Your role will include managing project finances, overseeing equipment allocation, and guiding a team of dedicated staff. You'll also ensure the proper maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment, mentor early-career ecologists, and contribute to exciting business development initiatives. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in ecology or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience. You should have a solid background in bat impact assessments for wind and solar developments, strong report writing skills, and a readiness to travel and work flexible hours.
