We are currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to join the expanding Statutory Reporting team.
The candidate will be an experienced accounting professional, who consistently exceeds expectations, thrives in a challenging workplace environment and will take on a key role in both the interim and year-end statutory reporting process.
This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon's current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements.
Key job responsibilities Preparation of high-quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworksPreparation of statutory trial balances including management of relevant local GAAP adjustmentsSupporting external audit processDriving process improvement and automation to reduce manual effortDemonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment of new product launches, projects and transactionsBusiness partnering with other Amazon teams, including Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate LegalCollaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardizationSupporting the on-boarding of new entities and activities, ensuring that all statutory requirements are identified and supportedDeveloping in depth knowledge of the AWS and Kuiper businessesOversight and submission of various statistical returns across EMEA geographiesManaging relationship with external service providers.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with financial reporting and audit, preferably gained within a Big Four firm
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English
- Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- ACCA, ACA, CPA qualification
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user
