Senior Group Accountant

This role is a crucial part of the finance team within the EMEA region, contributing significantly to achieving the team's financial objectives and deliverables on a monthly basis.
The primary responsibility is to manage a portfolio of ledgers and legal entities across Europe for monthly group reporting under US GAAP, in addition to overseeing local statutory reporting, including audits and local compliance requirements.
Responsibilities : Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting under US GAAP and local GAAP for a portfolio of entities and property books.
Take ownership of finance functions for several properties, including Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Accounts Receivable, Bank & Cash, Accounts Payable, VAT, etc.
Work within a team of accountants and assistant accountants, supporting areas such as Construction Accounting, Treasury, Tax, SOX, and more.
Review and process all transactions for assigned ledgers.
Prepare and review balance sheet accounts as part of month-end close controls, with a proactive approach to clearing reconciling items.
Oversee statutory audits for several entities across Europe.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as asset management, sales, FP&A, and site operations, and manage relationships with third-party service providers for local compliance and tax filings.
Develop a thorough understanding of the business to contribute to the standardization of processes across the P2P, O2C, and R2R functions, working with colleagues across different regions.
Play a key role in improving accounting and internal control systems, leading initiatives focused on operational excellence in finance.
Participate in integration and other finance projects.
Actively seek out and engage in ad-hoc and non-routine tasks and projects to drive professional development.
Qualifications & Skills: Qualified accountant, ideally trained at a top-tier accountancy firm.
2-3 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within a multinational environment.
Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP (e.g., Irish/German), and US GAAP.
Experience with real estate accounting and lease accounting concepts is advantageous.
Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is preferred.
Strong proficiency in systems and intermediate/advanced Excel skills are required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
Strong team player.
Capable of managing multiple priorities and working within tight deadlines.
