The company, which made over €450 million in revenue last year, is advertising a job role for a Senior H&S Advisor in the Galway area. They see H&S as one of their main priorities in the workplace and want to add somebody to the team to help maintain a safe working environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities: Manage emergency procedures and respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; maintain a focus on health and safety within the business.Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.Outline safe operational procedures that identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicate them to all employees.Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.Maintain records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.Deliver Toolbox Talks and liaise with HSE, Fire Officers, and Environmental Health Officers.Carry out regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to.Make changes to working practices to enhance safety and ensure compliance with current legislation.Skills and qualifications: Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred).3+ years in a similar role.Previous construction experience.Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to further their career in health and safety with great career progression opportunities.
