What You'll Do:As a Senior IMS Mainframe Database Systems Programmer, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our critical database systems.
Your expertise will support enterprise-wide initiatives, drive innovation, and ensure seamless system performance.

Key Responsibilities: Provide global support for IMS and Db2 database systems, ensuring reliability, security, and optimal performance.Troubleshoot and resolve multifaceted issues using your deep technical expertise.Design, implement, and document innovative technical solutions to meet business needs.Manage database system installs, upgrades, maintenance, and security configurations.Lead disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure system resilience.Analyze system performance using tools like IBM SQL Performance Analyzer and IBM Query Monitor, and implement tuning solutions.Collaborate with vendors and leverage tools such as IBMLINK to solve complex challenges.Utilize your skills in JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, REXX, and z/OS tools to manage and optimize mainframe environments.Hybrid: This position will be located onsite a minimum of three days per week in our Limerick office and 2 days from home.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements: Experience: 3+ years as a Db2 and/or IMS Systems Programmer.Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields; or equivalent professional experience.Strong knowledge of z/OS, IMS, and Db2 systems, including commands, utilities, and internals.Vendor interaction experience (including experienced in searching their knowledge databases).Knowledge of and experience with IBMLINK.Highly skilled with the standard z/OS tools: TSO/ISPF, JCL, VSAM Utilities, SDSF, SYSLOG, IEBCOPY, DFSMS, etc.
Specific skills are ability to code JCL, ability to use TSO/ISPF panels to edit and maintain PDS libraries, prepare JCL, submit JCL and examine results.
