Purpose The role contributes to the overall success of the Operational Resilience (OR) program in Europe ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. It ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.
The role leads a holistic review of OR across the UK and Ireland for the purpose of strengthening the Bank's OR footprint including being responsible for the yearly self-assessments across Europe. The role identifies and implements enhancements across the self-assessment, reporting, metrics.
To achieve these objectives, the incumbent will work with the Enterprise Operational Resilience team and key stakeholders in Global Banking and Markets (GBM) in the region and other jurisdictions, mainly Important Business Services (IBS) owners, Technology, the OR remediation lead, the Business Continuity and OR team in Toronto and Corporate Functions.
Accountabilities Reviews the OR capabilities which are focused on the firm's ability to deliver its IBS across a range of severe but plausible disruption scenarios.Reviews, assesses and proposes changes to the European OR methodology e.g. evolution of scenario testing beyond 'table-top' exercise.Works with key stakeholders to develop and roll-out resilience indicators for IBSs covering the six resource pillars of People, Facilities, Technology, Processes, Data and Third Parties.Works with relevant stakeholders to review relevant Operational Risk Incidents, IT and Cyber incidents to evaluate capabilities in the region and confirms the effectiveness of resilience measures.Works with the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) lead and Global Risk Management TPRM to review Critical Third Parties (CTP) for the region in relation to Third Party Business Continuity Management and exit management plans.Leads delivery of the yearly OR self-assessments across Europe.Provides industry insight on emerging trends relating to operational and technology resiliency.Contributes to a high-performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vision/values/business strategy of Scotiabank.Maintains the highest standards of conduct and integrity and ensures compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements.Dimensions London or Dublin based role.The role covers OR across all business lines in Europe.Education / Experience Wholesale financial markets experienceKnowledge of European OR regulationsExperience in technology-based rolesInquisitive and problem-solving mindsetVery good inter-personal skillsVery good verbal and writing skillsLocation(s): Ireland : Leinster : Dublin
