The TeamOur dedicated Critical Systems team plays a key role in making mission-critical buildings more energy-efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective to operate.
The team works solely in the data centre field, keeping abreast of current best practices while researching breakthrough technologies that shape future trends.
As a leader in this market, we work with our clients to develop innovative design solutions, evidenced by our work with Meta (Facebook) on their Odense Data Centre, which picked up awards from Data Cloud (Sustainable Data Centre 2021), Data Centre Dynamics (Hyperscale Data Centre Innovation), and Data Centre World (Green Data Centre of the Year 2021 & Special Contribution to Energy Efficiency 2021).

The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Critical Systems team and play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the Data Centre and Critical Systems fields, both in the UK and internationally.
As part of our established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare both scheme and detailed designs from feasibility and concept through to detailed engineering design and site support.
You will also have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects, and will be supported towards chartership.
You will support and be supported by senior staff within the team.
The SkillsEducated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng, BEng, or equivalent), and having gained experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a Data Centre/Critical Systems and Building Services context.
You have proven ability in delivering creative design solutions, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, and crucially – you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills in English and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
