Role Overview:
The Permanent Part-Time Senior Physiotherapist will be responsible for the delivery of Physiotherapy support to children accessing Children's Disability Network Team 6 (CDNT6). CDNT6 provides services to children from 0-18 with complex developmental needs, including physical, sensory, intellectual disabilities, and autism. The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland (BOCSI) are the lead agency for this team.
CDNTs are interdisciplinary teams that work within a Family Centred Practice model, collaborating with children, families, and other stakeholders to meet goals identified by the family.
Reporting/Responsible to: CDNT-6 Team Manager.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be registered with CORU and eligible for membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists or hold an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health & Children.
Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience, including supporting children with complex disabilities.
Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate competency in applying theory, knowledge, and skills in physiotherapy within the service area of children and intellectual disability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates are expected to work effectively within a dynamic team environment using a person-centered philosophy and adhere to their professional code of ethics at all times.
Working Hours:
63 hours a fortnight. Hours will be within 9 am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential changes between 8 am - 8 pm as future service needs require.
Annual Leave: 29 days per annum.
Remuneration: Department of Health Physiotherapist, Senior salary scale from 1st January 2024 - €60,816 x 8 increments - €71,609 pro-rata per annum.
Tenure: This position is permanent part-time and pensionable.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
Travel:
The person appointed must provide their own car and furnish an indemnity from insurers in favor of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid for travel performed in the discharge of duty.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Manage own caseload and assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment programmes for children according to service standards.Participate in teams and maintain professional working relationships with other team members.Organise, plan, co-ordinate, and develop services to meet the physiotherapy needs of people supported.Provide assessment, consultation, treatment, and recommendations for children.Ensure effective communication with all team members and families.Record caseload activity in a timely manner and maintain statistics as required.Ensure confidentiality in all matters, including the safe storage of reports and records.Monitor and keep up to date with developments in the field of physiotherapy.Provide relevant teaching and training for families, staff, and students as required.Ensure compliance with health and safety matters in the workplace.Informal enquiries for this post: Gillian Raftery, Children's Disability Network Manager or Cait O'Doherty on 091721400.
