Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model. Grade: Manager Contract type: Perm An experienced consultant with at least 10 years of proven expertise in the sector is sought to build on our profile and to lead project origination and delivery across a diverse project portfolio. The role requires the positive contribution to project development and delivery in accordance with the wider work programme and project priorities of the team, harnessing our transformational milestone of having joined KPMG Ireland upon the acquisition of our business, Future Analytics Consulting Ltd., in 2020. A snapshot of your peer group: 10+ years of working in a research or policy environment – ideally in a public sector, local government, academic or not for profit organisation.A proven track record in research and policy analysis including leading projects and tender development.High proficiency and knowledge of prevailing policy landscape in Ireland.Broad business insight and understanding of commercial processes is critical.An appropriate third level qualification, ideally to Masters Level, in a relevant discipline such as urban and regional planning, economics, international relations, public policy, social policy, law, sociology, tourism and/or geography.Strong interest in the development of the built environment – including place making initiatives; climate action; regeneration; and tourism - eager to learn and engage.Self-starter initiative - motivated with a positive and creative outlook, and a strong team player.Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in working within a business and technical environment.Ambition - career and personal development focused.Ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple projects with sound judgment and time management skills.Excellent communication (both written and verbal), analytical, facilitation and problem-solving skills.Passionate about finding new ways to deliver efficiencies and quality for clients - flexible and adaptable.Economics qualification, preferably at Master or PhD level.Significant experience of applying spatial economic analysis techniques and methods.Experience and/or qualifications in quantitative techniques / econometrics and the handling of large datasets.Ability to work across diverse projects, with other skillsets.An ability to explain complex economics clearly to non-economists and apply economic concepts and techniques to real world situations.Experience in developing and adapting economic models to suit specific client needs and to be aware of and apply the latest developments in economic thought leadership and literature.The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Experience working in a senior role with proven experience of delivering complex economic output to senior stakeholders to inform critical decision making.Ability to market economic services, write proposals and to develop new business opportunities.Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect: To lead a range of projects across different scales (local, regional, national) in the place-making / built environment arena.Prepare and support the development of planning policy documents; strategies; and statutory and non-statutory plans for urban and rural areas.Undertake research into evolving and emerging concepts and approaches in areas including spatial planning; spatial economics; urban and rural revitalisation; smart cities and villages; climate change; and tourism.Assist with the undertaking of public and stakeholder consultation activities.To manage relations with our existing client base in a proactive and positive manner and contribute towards the development of new business opportunities by seeking out new clients.Support the organisation of national and international events and webinars, knowledge exchange workshops, as well as represent KPMG at such events as required.To plan and manage own work, showing commitment to continuous professional development.To supervise and provide guidance to junior members of staff, as necessary, by monitoring and reviewing their contribution to priority projects.To prepare and present complex information in both formal and informal settings.Identify and document client requirements.Experience of communication (consultations, workshops, presentations and networking).Collaborate with Partners and their Business Units across the Firm, and with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality projects.Contribution to the creation of new opportunities and new ideas – developing best practice.Contribution to the development of business strategy and implementation, defining supporting project procedures and protocol.Building and sharing knowledge across the company.To carry out other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature to those described above as may be allocated from time to time.Your team: In November 2020 KPMG acquired Future Analytics Consulting Ltd., our planning, economics and research consultancy who specialise in the provision of data-driven advice to public and private sector clients. As Future Analytics sits within the wider Deal Advisory practice, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally across a variety of teams. The KPMG Future Analytics team currently consists of circa. 35+ management and staff members across planning, economics, research and data analytics. We have a strong focus on the use of data to inform economic policy and decision making and believe that the ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to leverage this expertise into best in class economic advice to our clients.
