Senior Quantity Surveyor Position DescriptionJoin our dedicated team where we provide specialist Quantity Surveying, Engineering Planning, Design, Construction Operation & Maintenance and Management services required for electricity industry infrastructure projects in Ireland and overseas.
The Quantity Surveyor role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management for our full range of projects including office refurbishments, substation construction, ducting and cable works, solar farms, wind farms, battery storage projects and general construction and civil engineering projects.
The role will involve close liaison with Senior Quantity Surveyors and other design professionals, clients, and contractors.
ESB promotes continual professional development and sees this as a key aspect of the role.

Cost management function throughout all phases of a projectPreparation of Order of Magnitude CostsPreparation of tender documentationLiaison with procurement functionTender assessment and evaluationReport writing and interpretationPromote the safety management culture across all activities demonstrating visible commitment to safety.Ensure that Quality Procedures are implemented on all projects.Assist with mentoring and professional development of junior staffKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceWorking as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and new problems to solve – working together is key.
You will have the autonomy to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems with the support of your colleagues.
We are looking for the following skills:
Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 5 years (Post Qualification)Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to the highest professional standardsSelf-motivation and ability to project-manage own work and coordinate with those working alongside him/herProven record of being results driven and customer oriented.Full driving licence and access to a car.A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer serviceKnowledge of the administration of main conditions of contract including FIDIC Conditions of ContractAbility to make quality decisions and judgementsA logical, yet imaginative approach to problem solvingAbility to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structureA clear focus on delivery of high quality workExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience in the use of Buildsoft & Cubit software would be advantageousExperience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects would be advantageousThe demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work with limited oversight.QualificationsLevel 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
MRICS/MSCSI qualified, with Legal Registration under the Building Control Act 2007
LocationOne Dublin Airport Central, Dublin or Eastgate Cork.
