Role Introduction: Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations.
The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people.
Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and to support this ambitious growth, we are seeking to onboard a Senior Social and Content Manager, to join our new team.
This role will form part of the Commercial team and reports to the Head of Digital & Partnerships.
The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreenseamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role.
Key Responsibilities: SOCIAL Develop and execute a comprehensive social strategy aligned with the business objectives. Overall management and execution of organic social calendars supporting internal stakeholders and partner brands. Manage and optimise paid social media campaigns across multiple social platforms. Collaborate with the Brand and Marketing teams to develop high-quality content and curate external content. Identify key performance indicators.
Utilise data and analytics tools to measure social performance, areas for improvement and demonstrate return on investment.
Provide post campaign support to internal and external stakeholders across performance and campaign delivery KPIs. DIGITAL CONTENT Champion Applegreen's digital-out-of-home network, driving adoption internally and with 3rd party suppliers and brands. Work closely with Brand and Marketing teams delivering a best in class, unified customer experience across Applegreen's digital signage portfolio. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage the deployment of digital signage content across our store network ensuring campaigns are successfully executed and relationships are developed. Oversee servicing and maintenance of the digital signage / out of home portfolio. Create and deliver dynamic sales presentations that highlight Applegreen's leading digital-out-of-home network and manage associated P&L. VOICE OF THE CUSTOMER Design, execute and analyse customer surveys across in-store and online channels that will guide a best-in-class customer centric experience. Translate data into clear concise and actionable insights for stakeholders. Lead the implementation and onboarding of new technology. DIGITAL STRATEGY Support the group digital strategy from concept through to implementation and ongoing continuous improvement. The Candidate should have the following: Qualifications, experience & skills 6+ years in a digital or marketing role, gained within a customer-centric B2C environment (Agency or in-house). Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful social media campaigns; organic and paid. Strong understanding of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Strong understanding of social media advertising platforms and targeting capabilities (e.g, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads Manager). Experience with social media management tools (e.g Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Emplifi). Experience creating creative content and telling stories to engage consumers across social channels. Keen interest in emerging social trends, industry best practices, and evolving algorithms that support the customer experience across digital channels. Experienced with market research and conducting surveys or focus groups. Strong understanding of analytics principles and processes with proficiency in data analysis tools [Google Analytics, Excel, data visualisation tools]. Experienced with content management systems, preferably digital signage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Additional key skills & attributes: Excellent understanding of social first creative with very strong copywriting skills. A dynamic individual who adapts well to change and can thrive in a rapidly growing organisation that continues to evolve. Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines. A highly organised individual with ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively for maximum impact and adapt around changing priorities as required.
