Post 2329 Senior Systems Administrator Security Information Technology Department Full Time Permanent National Blood Centre The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent, Senior Systems Administrator based in the Information Technology Department, National Blood Centre. The Senior Systems Administrator will join the existing IT team, responsible for support, maintenance, and enhancement of the IBTS Server and Network infrastructure. This role will have a specific focus on enhancing security and cyber-resilience. The Senior Systems administrator will provide technical and other leadership within the Networks & Systems team and will work with internal staff and third-party suppliers to deliver improvements to the IBTS network infrastructure and projects. Essential Criteria: Qualifications A relevant third level qualification of at least level 8 on the National Qualifications Framework (QQI) Current relevant vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft Expert or equivalent) Experience A minimum of 6 years experience delivering support and improvement projects in complex IT environments. 3+ years experience in working with Office 365 / Azure ADFS Experience in one or more cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Experience working in an organisation that holds recognised IT Security certifications (e.g. ISO27001, CyberEssentials +) Proven ability to lead and deliver technical projects in own area. Experience of working with and managing Third Parties and other suppliers Solid understanding and experience of LAN & WAN networking technologies Excellent written and verbal communications. Experience of leading a technical team. Practical experience with VMWare technologies. Practical experience of backup technologies. Desirable Criteria: Practical experience of delivering improvements relating to compliance programmes (e.g. NIS-D/NIS2) Networking, Linux & Unix Administration Experience working in regulated sectors, including GxP. Experience and certification in service management e.g. ITIL. Project management experience. The salary scale attached to the post is the Grade VII scale €57,677 to €74,978 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience. The closing date for receipt of applications is 23.45 hrs (Irish Time) on 8th September 2024.
