The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for the management of the team and all accounting functions, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance in a fast-paced changing environment. To lead a first class, efficient, focused finance team ensuring accuracy and control meeting reporting deadlines in support of country requirements.

What You'll Do: Manage and develop team members through training, coaching, performance management, goal-setting and effective feedback to ensure that all team members know how they are performing and receive the appropriate guidance to help them improve their performance and conduct their tasks effectively.Ensure completion of team activities including:Review and posting of journals in Oracle within monthly schedule.General ledger reconciliations are up to date, completed in accordance with Hertz procedural standards and reconciling items are cleared on time.Team compliance with daily and monthly deadlines.Maintain daily bank statements and timely recording of transactions in Oracle.Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and dealing with Internal and External auditors.Drive continuous process improvement and successful project implementations.Deliver timely and accurate reporting.Drive consistency and standardisation across all team processes and review and introduce solutions to drive best practice and cost saving.Liaise, support, and advise country accounting teams to ensure financial controls are followed.Effective communication with other business departments ensuring timely recording of every transaction.Handle escalated queries ensuring that all general queries are dealt with by the team in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer.Review the processes and procedures of team and ensure that these are applied daily.Structured monitoring of the team, One to One's.Be fully conversant with the Hertz Mission Vision & Values and seek to fulfil them in your day-to-day activities.Ad hoc projects as assigned by your manager.What We're Looking For: Good accounting skills (Qualified or part qualified level in Industry recognised professional exams).Demonstrated track record in finance/accounting function – minimum 3 years.Experience in training, coaching and developing team members.Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint essential.Knowledge of Finance ERP systems, preferably Oracle & GAR.Experience with Hyperion and HFM is an advantage.Ability to energise and motivate team members.Commitment to continuous process improvement.Ability to motivate teams and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work under minimal supervision with a goal-oriented mindset.Ability to see the big picture and leverage critical thinking and decision-making skills.Excellent organisation, time management, delegation, and prioritisation skills.Courageous leadership and accountability.What You'll Strive For: Meeting monthly accounting close and reconciliation deadlines.Reduce unreconciled banking entries.Reduce manual entries by automating accounting rules in the Cash Management system.What You'll Get: Employee Friends & Family rental discount in corporate countries (40% discount for employee & partner; 30% discount for up to 8 additional family/friends).Hybrid/flexible working arrangements.22 days holidays on hire rising to 27 days with service.Occupational Pension Scheme with up to 5% company matched contribution.Life Cover payable at 4 times base salary.Profit Share Scheme.Tuition support plus access to comprehensive online learning platform.10 days paid study leave & paid exam leave where exams fall during work hours.Income protection for long term illness.Professional membership fees paid in full annually where membership relates directly to role.Bike to Work & Travel Pass schemes.Employee Assistance Programme for employees and family.Occupational Health support.Christmas savings scheme.Free parking.
