The Rea Services operate in Loughrea, Co. Galway, where there are a range of services including day, residential, family support services, training, education, Individualised services, and leisure activities to support adults with an intellectual disability in the Loughrea area.
The Service Coordinator, under the guidance of the Area Manager, and supported by local staff teams, is responsible for the coordination and continued development of these services.
Reporting/Responsible to: Area Manager/Sector Manager
Qualifications/Experience/Skills: The successful candidate must have:
•A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Health Sector e.g.
BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or nursing qualification.
•A minimum of 3 years post graduate relevant experience in management and leadership.
•An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management is a necessary requirement of the post to enable the successful candidate take on the Person in Charge role.
•Proven operational experience is essential.
•Budgetary/financial, employee relations and team management experience.
•Excellent leadership, managerial and team-working skills are required to co-ordinate and support the service teams and to ensure that a range of high quality services are provided.
•Excellent communication and organisational skills together with up to date knowledge of current thinking and practices in person centred service delivery.
•Good IT skills is crucial for this role.
•A full clean manual Irish driving licence.
Working Hours: For nursing grades 75 hours a fortnight applies/For Social Care grades 78 hours a fortnight applies.
Normal working week will be rostered over a 5 day basis however contracted hours of work are liable to change over seven days to meet requirements of the post and flexibility with regard to your hours of duty will be required to fulfil the duties of the post including rostered weekends.
An On-call commitment is an essential requirement of this post.
The Service Coordinator will be required to be on-call after working hours during the normal working week, at weekends and covering holidays as part of a rostered on-call system.
In exceptional circumstances sleep-ins and night duties may be required.
The Service Coordinator will be assigned Person-In-Charge (PIC) responsibilities under the HIQA Regulations.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave: Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful
Candidate e.g.
CNM3 or Social Care Manager 3.
Remuneration: Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate e.g.
CNM3 or Social Care Manager 3.
Tenure: This position is temporary, full-time and pensionable on a specific purpose basis linked to a permanent staff members leave.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
