Site Service Engineer / Electrician

The Site Service Engineer / Electrician plays a crucial role in our organisation.
They leverage their Electrical experience to support the installation and maintenance of LV Switchgear at client sites.
They also work in-house on power supply projects, switchgear and distribution design, electrical design, instrumentation, and wiring devices.
As a key member of our team, reporting to the Site Manager, you will manage all aspects involved in the maintenance and installation works undertaken by Capital, including managing and overseeing equipment dispatched to the site.
This role has an attractive combination of in-house and onsite work.
When in-house, you will be based at our headquarters in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, and you will be assigned to work on our client sites in Europe as needed.
This blend will suit candidates who are comfortable with being away from home regularly.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Installation & Support Make up and install cable containment in line with layout drawings and dimensions.Install and terminate cable in the correct manner and in line with site standards.Install, connect, test, commission and service LV Switchgear.Perform thermal imaging surveys using a Fluke thermal imaging camera.Carry out LV Switchgear modifications independently or as part of a team.Conduct site inductions and task briefings as needed.Liaise closely with customers during the completion of works.Diagnose and resolve problems efficiently.Follow Capital's safety policy and perform all work safely.Respond professionally to all assigned service calls.Keep the workplace in a tidy manner and free of excess materials.Administration & Documentation Complete necessary certificates for client handover and witness testing and associated documentation as needed.Monitor work progress and provide project status reports.Maintain accurate records and certificates for handover to clients.Provide witness testing documentation and reports as required.Issue after-service reports to Capital and clients.Report back on potential improvements observed on site.Accurately complete and submit timesheets daily.Timely submission of expenses and travel requests.Keep company vehicles clean and well-maintained.Client Relationships Establish, promote and maintain excellent customer relationships within the field.Flexibility and Adaptability Be flexible within the role and accept that from time to time, you may be required to carry out other roles within the business to assist in covering resourcing gaps.Flexibility with start and finish times, work on weekends and travel internationally.RequirementsQualified Electrician (recognised in Ireland) or Degree in Electrical Engineering.At least 3 years post-qualification experience.Experience in manufacturing is essential, preferably in the LV Switchgear industry.Safe Pass & Manual Handling certifications.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and ability to work accurately to deadlines in busy and pressurised environments.Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-moving business environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong initiative, organisational skills, and time management.Ability to work within a team.Available to work outside normal hours and travel internationally at short notice.Eligible to work in the EU, and proficient in English (verbal and written).Benefits & Other DetailsFull-time position.Competitive hourly rates.Company vehicle provided.Bike to work scheme.Continuous training, including online courses and certifications, workshops and seminars, on-the-job training, mentorship programs, and professional conferences, among others.Pension Scheme.Further Education Support.Employee Assistance Programme 24/7/365.Quarterly Social Activities.Free Parking.As an equal opportunities employer, we are committed to treating our employees equally in relation to age, civil status, disability, ethnicity and race, family status, gender, membership of the Traveller community, religion, and sexual orientation.
