Social Care Assistant x4 posts Children's Residential Services Castlebar / Swinford, Co. Mayo   Permanent 21 hours per week + Sleep in's (6 over 4-week period) + Relief Reference Number 2024-186 to 189 Closing Date: September 27 th , 2024   Job Brief The Social Care Assistant will be required to deliver on the vision for people they are supporting.
You will work directly with a number of children, meeting their care and support needs, supporting them to gain valued opportunities with community-based activities and liasing closely with their multi-disciplinary team and family.
You will take on the role of Named Staff for a child/children, co-ordinating their Individual Plan and working as part of a team in all aspects of support.
  Qualification Details No minimum qualifications required for Social Care Assistant positions   Candidate Requirements Knowledge and experience of supporting individuals with Intellectual disability and /or Autism is essential An understanding of person and family cantered approach is essential Previous experience working with young people preferable Good communication skills, managing time effectively and timely record keeping are essential A knowledge of working in partnership with families is desirable Experience of working in partnership as part of a team and with other agencies is desirable Flexibility in relation to working hours and location Good knowledge of IT skills is preferred   Other duties involved   (Duties include but are not limited to the following) Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the creative development and ongoing changing needs of the service.
Provide personal care and support to people we support, where required.
Ensure a safe place of work, incorporating Western Care Association's Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirement.
To promote safety in all environments, in line with the Association's practices.
Use positive approaches to support people who may have challenging behaviour in line with Organisational practice.
  Other Requirements Full driver's license is essential All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.U.
