We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our team in Dublin Adult Day Service, currently based in Dun Laoghaire. Contract Type: This is a permanent contract.
Contract Hours: 39 hours per week.
Salary Scale: €38,107 – €50,953 pro-rata per annum.
Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 31 days per annum.
Overview of the Post: To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in an Adult Day Service working with Adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate Intellectual disabilities, within a quality framework.
The post holder will support the individuals accessing the service with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: · Provide leadership and support to colleagues around person centred planning and approaches in line with policies.
· Assist service users to develop and maintain a "Circle of Support" with relevant participants of the service user's choice.
· To work closely with Keyworkers to facilitate the Service Owner to identify, plan and implement their goals, and support them to actively participate in the activities of their choice.
· To follow the Service Owners' bespoke care plan to ensure their independence, & wellbeing.
· To assist the Service Owner with all activities, including therapy programmes in line with their personal goals.
· Be aware of health issues for each Service Owner and administer medication accordingly to Enable Irelands medication policy.
· Maintain high standards in practice at all times in accordance with Enable Ireland policy.
· Liaise with other staff involved with Service Owners as required, for example therapy staff, etc.
· Be familiar with the correct usage of Service Owners' equipment.
· Carry out duties in accordance with Enable Ireland Health & Safety procedures and ensuring Service Owners safety is paramount at all times.
· Act as a strong team member, sharing information and ideas with co-workers.
This includes participating in staff meetings as well as keeping clear and concise records.
· Take particular responsibility for Service Owners through the key-worker system and support other Keyworkers to lead out on PCP process in line with Service owner's goals & wishes.
· Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and Service Owners plus circle of supports for each Service owner ( e.g.
Family members, Staff from other organisations i.e.
residential )
· Adhere to Guidelines for Working with Adults and Families as outlined in the Code of Practice.
· Write and keep accurate records in line with Enable Ireland procedures, at all times respecting the need for confidentiality.
· Keep abreast of developments in best practice and participate in appropriate staff training/development programmes.
· Drive the service vehicle as required, in line with Enable Ireland policy and procedures and in keeping with national legislation.
· Carry out any duties required as a result of any HSE, public health guidelines required
· Any other appropriate duties.
The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: Must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers registration board with CORU from November 2023, must obtain such registration by November 2025 and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role.

Experience of delivering personal care to adults. Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication. Experience of engaging in professional supervision. Possess a full, clean driving licence. Desirable Criteria: · Experience of working with adults and families with physical/sensory /intellectual disabilities.
· Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.
