St John of God Liffey Services invites applications for Social Care Workers based in our community residential services within the North Kildare areas to provide support to individuals with an intellectual disability.
Social Care Workers - Residential Services Permanent - Full Time/Permanent Relief ( Ref: KILRES288 ) Suitably qualified candidates must have a recognised qualification as follows: Minimum of QQI level 7 in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care / Social Care Studies Or RNID qualification Be eligible to register with CORU Suitably candidates must have: Have experience working with adults with an Intellectual Disability, Autism and complex medical needs and must demonstrate an excellent understanding of the health, social and emotional needs of these individuals.
Commitment to deliver all aspects of care and support through a person-centred approach.
Knowledge and understanding of HIQA Standards & other relevant legislative requirements for registered designated centres and the ability to be compliant with these.
Demonstrate a commitment to carry out duties with initiative, motivation, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
Show an excellent understanding of meeting the health & social care needs of all residents.
Up to date knowledge of best practice in the field of health and social care and an ability to implement this.
Excellent communication skills both written non-verbal and verbal.
Flexible & willing to work all types of shifts (i.e., Long Day, Short day, sleepovers, night shift) and patterns of work (weekdays, holiday periods and weekends) to suit the needs of the residents.
A willingness to support and mentor students on placements.
An understanding of the values and ethos of the organisation and a commitment to implementing these.
An ability to support residents to achieve their full potential and independence in all aspects of their lives.
Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
Full clean manual driving licence essential.
