We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Staff Grade Social Worker to join our Network 5 team in Galway.
Contract Type: This is a permanent contract.
Contract Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Salary Scale: €49,581 to €65,674 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments).
Overview of the Post: To provide a quality, evidence-based social work service to children and young people aged 0 – 18 years and their families within an interdisciplinary and family-centred practice framework. The post holder will be required to support other staff and students as assigned.
To work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children with disabilities and their families within the catchment area, to include assessment, intervention and outcome, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide an integrated and co-ordinated service to children and their families.Ensure that professional standards are maintained.Act as key worker to a number of children & families.Work in partnership with families in providing a range of social work support services to them.Possibly carry out the role of deputy designated person in Child Protection.Provide assessment, care planning and supervision to families known to the Children's Disability Network Team.Work as part of the Galway Children's Disability Network Team in Line with Progressing Disability Services.Contribute towards the ongoing development of the service.Liaise with the HSE & other agencies as appropriate.Provide all aspects of case management to families with specific packages of care.Participate in the evaluation of the service and in research initiatives.Comply with Enable Ireland policies and procedures as advised.Any other appropriate duties.The successful candidate will have: Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date of the competition:
Must be registered in the Social Work Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU.Maintain live annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU.Must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.And:
Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.Good organisational skills.Proficient use of the English language.Basic IT skills.Clean driving licence and access to own transport.Post qualification experience, preferably with children with disabilities.Experience of interdisciplinary working.Experience of working in a child and family centred model.Understanding of the social model of disability.Commitment to working in partnership.Commitment to ongoing training and development.If you believe you would fit the role, then please submit your application today.
